Passing

Today, Uncle Gene, the eldest of my dad’s siblings, passed from this life. Death always causes me to pause and think of how important it is to take the time to be with the one’s you love, because you never know when that opportunity may be your last. Monday night, my dad had the chance to spend over an hour with my uncle. At the time, there was no sign that he would pass away the next day – what a blessing those moments are for my dad.

During the party held for my grandmother’s 90th birthday, I photographed each of her 14 children to create this composite image of my grandmother and each child in their birth order. Like my dad, I am grateful I did not let the moment pass – to me  it is a blessing to have this image in remembrance.

My heart is filled with peace knowing Uncle Gene is now in a place free from the cares of this World.

A scripture that I love comes to mind,

Peace I leave with you,

my peace I give unto you:

not as the world giveth, give I unto you.

Let not your heart be troubled,

neither let it be afraid.”

-  John 14:27 -

We love you, Uncle Gene.

Beautiful Weekend

This weekend was a refreshing opportunity to enjoy some time with great friends and to “sharpen the saw,” especially in a spiritual sense.

The waters of Bear Lake ranged from a vivid aqua to a royal blue – gorgeous. Saturday night, the landscape received a fresh dusting of snow.

Baby Preview – Gabriella

What a darling little gal.  A preview of  cute pictures to come . . .

Bridals – Melissa

Last Saturday night, a bit nippy and pending rain – but not a drop fell until after the shoot was over.

Melissa had the perfect look for some relaxed, urban bridals in downtown Salt Lake City.

Here a just a few of my favorites:

Joy of the Climb

“Every day you may make progress. Every step may be fruitful. Yet there will stretch out before you an ever-lengthening, ever-ascending, ever-improving path. You know you will never get to the end of the journey. But this, so far from discouraging, only adds to the joy and glory of the climb.”  -  Winston Churchill -
