Here’s a sneak peek. I absolutely love Emma’s expression . . . an expression filled with surprise and delight!

Today I visited Antelope Island during the Garr Family Reunion . . . quite convenient to have the reunion on the island after creating my 101 in 1001.

For tonight, this is a small portion of the wild bison herd crossing a grassy area on the island.

Tonight’s dinner was delicious.

I was really happy with the falafel recipe I found, after a few modifications.

We enjoyed the falafel as a wrap. A whole wheat tortilla with lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers and vanilla yogurt as the sauce complimented the falafel nicely.

Mmm, definitely a repeat.

The dinner was particularly fun because I got to enjoy it with Clark . . . so happy to see him after being up in Montana all week (I’ll be blogging the details soon).

Rachel looked absolutely stunning in her ivory wedding gown. Rachel’s dark hair was swept into an updo, decorated with fragile orchids, which added to her classic elegance.

Rachel had so many gorgeous images that I love. What a beautiful bride!

Today Clark and I finally visited Timpanogos Cave. For Clark, the cave was a repeat. I was thrilled to see it for the first time.

When we arrived at the base of the hike, I realized I forgot a jacket; the cave is a constant 43 degrees Fahrenheit year round.

The hike to reach the mouth of the cave was warm, but not unbearable. The trail is a mile and a half of well groomed, paved switch-backs.

All along the trail, we enjoyed delicate wild flowers.

The rock formations of the canyon itself were unique. We later learned that an active fault line runs parallel to the mountains and runs directly through the cave.

The cave was super dark (shock of all shocks, I’m sure) even with the lights on. This made it difficult to shoot in the cave without a tripod or direct flash (yuck). With a steady hand and ISO 4000, I ended up with some decent hand-held shots of the interesting ancient mineral formations.

The Heart of the Cave. The heart is a cubic meter in volume and is estimated to weigh two tons. They even have a pulsing red light to make the heart look as though it is beating.

I survived the cool temperatures much better than expected. A nice man, who did not speak English, was kind enough to snap this picture  of Clark and I after I set up the shot.

What a great day!

I am also grateful to have spent this weekend with three cuties whom I adore!

Beautiful Sienna; a rare moment . . .  still for a brief second before running to see the squirrels, throw rocks, and chase up and down the stairs.

Happy 4th of July!

Rachel looked simply elegant in her gown and we could not have ordered up a more perfect soft light.

For tonight, a preview of beautiful things to come (won’t show the dress until the Ryan sees Rachel ) . . .

I am so excited to shoot their wedding in a few weeks!

It makes me laugh, a lot. Emma has this little laugh were she scrunches up her face and breaths noisily in and out though her nose, later squealing with delight. She did it a lot when we were by our teddy bears. The image on the second row, center, is part of the sequence . . . it looks like she is mad, but really just trying to laugh.

This image I tilted “The Treat Inspector” reminiscent from a picture of my brother, “The Raisin Inspector.” Good times.

Emma knew she wanted the treat, but had quite the time getting the treat from the bed to her mouth. Her first success, after many failed attempts, burying her face in the bed right over one of the treats. Her mom did the same thing with her first birthday cake . . . couldn’t get it with a fork, couldn’t get it with her hands, so she plopped her face right in the middle of her cake, and came up with a mouth full of cake and a big smile.

I love today    .

I was testing his email to gather contact information for our five year class reunion . . . Clark remembered that today was the five year anniversary of when I sent this email that eventually gave him the courage to ask me out on our first date. How he remembers everything is a mystery to me.

It made me smile
